US President Donald Trump confirmed that authorities have apprehended a suspect linked to the tragic shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Speaking to Fox News, Trump said, “With a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody,” noting that someone very close to the suspect turned him in. Officials are expected to provide more details later today.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed on Wednesday during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Authorities have described the shooting as a targeted attack, raising alarms about politically motivated violence.

Following the incident, the FBI released video footage showing the suspect fleeing the scene. Authorities also offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. A high-powered, bolt-action rifle believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered from a nearby wooded area.

While the suspect is now reportedly in custody, officials have not yet publicly disclosed the individual’s identity or motive. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
