First Lady Jill Biden sets up Valentine’s Day decorations at White House

Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States today decorated the North Lawn of the White House before sunrise with special Valentine’s Day artwork with enormous pink, white and red hearts that resemble the popular candy. The heart-shaped props have words printed on them such as unity, kindness, healing, compassion, love and courage. One of the hearts was signed, “Love, Jill.”

Jill Biden said people are feeling sad and ‘low’ due to the pandemic and she hopes that this gesture of hers is able to bring some joy and hope to the people. The office of the FLOTUS said in a statement – “As you may know, the first lady is known for her sense of humour, love of surprises, and celebrating traditions, especially with her family. Valentine’s Day has always been one of her favourite holidays.”

While appreciating his wife’s gesture, recently elected President of the United States Joseph Biden, tweeted from his official Twitter handle – “I know the last year has been difficult and painful for all of us. I hope Jill’s Valentine’s Day message helped brighten your day.”

The president told reporters that Valentine’s Day is Jill’s favourite day of the year. Jill Biden said people are feeling “a little down” with the pandemic so she just wanted to do something to bring “a little joy. A little hope.” Her office said in a statement: “As you may know, the first lady is known for her sense of humour, love of surprises, and celebrating traditions, especially with her family. Valentine’s Day has always been one of her favourite holidays.”
