Recent online rumours have falsely claimed that skateboarding legend Tony Hawk held one of his weddings on Jeffrey Epstein’s private island. The speculation gained traction after Hawk’s name surfaced in references connected to the recently released Epstein Files. However, verified facts, public records, and Hawk’s own statement clearly confirm that none of his weddings took place on Epstein Island.

Why Tony Hawk’s Name Appeared in the Epstein Files

The controversy emerged after documents released by the United States Department of Justice—commonly referred to as the Epstein Files—circulated online. These files contain a mix of interviews, emails, seized materials, and unverified third-party allegations related to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal investigation.

One redacted email included an unproven claim alleging that Tony Hawk was present on Epstein’s island during a wedding. Importantly, these documents do not represent confirmed facts or legal findings, and many references inside them remain uncorroborated.

Tony Hawk Responds to Epstein Island Wedding Claims

Tony Hawk publicly addressed the rumours on February 5 through an Instagram Stories post, firmly denying any association with Jeffrey Epstein or his island. Hawk stated that he had never met Epstein and had never visited his private estate.

To counter the speculation, Hawk shared a clear and verifiable timeline of all four of his weddings, emphasising that facts do not change to suit false narratives.

Verified Timeline of Tony Hawk’s Weddings

Tony Hawk has been married four times, and each wedding location is well documented. His first marriage to Cindy Dunbar in 1990 took place at his home in Fallbrook, California. His second wedding to Erin Lee in 1996 was held in San Diego, California, at a Hilton hotel.

In 2006, Hawk married Lhotse Merriam in Fiji at Tavarua Surf Island, a globally recognised surf resort with no connection to Jeffrey Epstein. His most recent wedding, in 2015, was to Catherine “Cathy” Goodman and took place in Ireland at Adare Manor, a historic and publicly known venue.

None of these locations has any link to Epstein Island or the United States Virgin Islands.

Why the Fiji Wedding Was Misinterpreted Online

The confusion surrounding the 2006 Fiji wedding appears to stem from professional photographs taken during the ceremony. Tony Hawk explained that the images were legitimately licensed to Getty Images by a guest named Mark Epstein.

Although the surname sparked speculation, Hawk clarified that this Mark Epstein is an action sports photographer from Wyoming and has no relation to Jeffrey Epstein. Hawk also apologised publicly for the misinformation that unfairly affected the photographer.

What Is Epstein Island, and Why Is The Claim False

Jeffrey Epstein infamously owned Little Saint James, often referred to as “Epstein Island,” located in the United States Virgin Islands. The island has been central to numerous criminal allegations linked to Epstein.

Tony Hawk categorically stated that he has never visited Little Saint James and has no personal or professional connection to Epstein. No evidence, travel records, photographs, or official documentation contradict Hawk’s statement.
