The FBI has released new video footage showing the suspect in the Utah Valley University shooting that left conservative activist Charlie Kirk dead. The surveillance clip, made public on Thursday, captures the suspect leaping from a rooftop moments after the fatal gunfire before fleeing the scene.

What the Video Shows

In the footage, the shooter can be seen in dark clothing, scaling down from the rooftop of a building on campus and running away. Investigators say the suspect used the rooftop as a vantage point around 12 p.m. Mountain Time on September 10, firing a high-powered rifle at Kirk during an event.

Authorities revealed that after escaping, the suspect abandoned both the weapon and additional ammunition in a wooded area near the university.

Evidence Found at the Scene

Forensic teams recovered several critical pieces of evidence from the rooftop:

  • Shoe impressions

  • A forearm imprint

  • A palm print

Officials believe these traces may be key in identifying the shooter, whose identity remains unknown.

Ongoing Investigation

Two people initially detained after the attack were later released, as investigators confirmed they had no connection to the shooting. The FBI has since received thousands of tips and is urging the public to review the video and still images.

A reward of up to $100,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
