US President Donald Trump is reportedly planning to attend a New York Yankees game on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, according to sources quoted by the New York Post.
Trump, who will mark the day with official memorial duties earlier, is scheduled to travel to Yankee Stadium in the evening to watch the Yankees face the Detroit Tigers in a matchup of the American League’s top teams. The game is set for 7:05 p.m.
Trump’s day will begin with a memorial ceremony at the Pentagon in northern Virginia, while Vice President JD Vance will represent the administration at the commemoration ceremony at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan.
Later, Trump is expected to return to his birthplace, New York City, for the Yankees game. The report cautioned that the plans were tentative and that Trump could still change his mind.
The White House has not issued an official on-the-record statement about the President’s plans.
