Spain’s annual EU-harmonised inflation rate remained unchanged at 2.7% in August, according to final data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) on Friday. The figure matched both the flash estimate issued two weeks ago and the consensus forecast of analysts polled by Reuters.

Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy components, ticked up to 2.4% from 2.3% in July. National consumer prices also rose by 2.7% year-on-year in August, mirroring the previous month’s pace.

The confirmation underscores stability in Spain’s headline inflation trend, though the slight rise in underlying price pressures may keep policymakers cautious as the European Central Bank prepares for its next monetary policy decision.
