Flights between Israel and the UAE can now fly over Saudi Arabia after the kingdom said all flights to and from the UAE can cross its airspace, state news agency reported.
As per the kingdom’s aviation authority, the decision came at the request of the UAE. This move follows a historic peace deal last month between UAE and Israel to normalise ties.
The decision is significant as it cuts flying time between the Middle East states by several hours.
In 2018, Air India has been allowed by Saudi Arabia to fly over its territory on its new route from New Delhi to Tel Aviv.
