After reports in two newspapers that claim, the closest assistant of  Britain’s Prince offered to help secure a British passport and a knighthood for a Saudi businessman, during late Saturday he gave the resignation.

The Chief executive of The Prince’s Foundation expressed the charity’s willingness to use its influence on behalf of Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz, according to the report published in The Sunday Times and The Mail on Sunday. In the Middle East through hotels, property, and manufacturing Mahfouz’s family made its fortune.

As per the newspaper report, the fixer of Saudi businessmen contacted those who were close to Prince Charles about the prospect of a British honour as early as 2011 and letters were being published by various parties over the subsequent six-year.

Donations exceed more than 1.5 million : 

Mahfouz donated sums of more than 1.5 million pounds ($2.1 million) to royal charities that helped fund renovations of residences used by Charles and other charitable ventures, said The Sunday Times.

Whereas On Sunday The Mail reported that a letter from Fawcett to one of Mahfouz’s aides that were written in 2017, thanked the businessman for his “ongoing and recent generosity” after he donated cash to help renovate Dumfries House, a Palladian mansion in Scotland.

“I am happy to confirm to you, in confidence, that we are willing and happy to support and contribute to the application for Citizenship,” added Fawcett.

“I can further confirm that we are willing to make [an] application to increase His Excellency’s honour from Honorary CBE [Commander of the British Empire] to that of KBE [Knight Commander of the British Empire] in accordance with Her Majesty’s Honours Committee.”

A year earlier, at Buckingham Palace Mahfouz was given a CBE by Prince Charles. Fawcett offered to temporarily step down from active duties as the organization’s chief executive while an investigation takes place. It said Fawcett will assist the investigation, The Prince’s Foundation said in a statement.

In 1981 Fawcett began his royal service as a footman to Queen Elizabeth II and later became Charles’ assistant valet. In 2003, he was also accused of selling unwanted royal gifts but was cleared of financial misconduct allegations. He gave resignation from his position as a valet but continued to work in other roles including as Charles’ events planner.

In return for a six-figure sum, a veteran British fundraiser was offering clients dinner with Prince Charles and an overnight stay at Dumfries House The Mail on Sunday alleged in another revelation linked to the Prince of Wales.
