PM Modi & French President Macron discuss ways to deepen bilateral defense ties

The two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on all the key areas of bilateral engagement, including in defense, space, civil nuclear cooperation and people-to-people linkages.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who was on his three-nation European tour will return to India after completing the visits. PM Modi held bilateral talks in the areas of trade, energy and green technology and also termed his visit to France as ‘very fruitful’.

In his visit to France, PM Modi discussed strategic importance of having important ties with France. The two leaders discussed various regional and global developments. Alongside their discussion on the trade, the two leaders also discussed defense co-operation. The leaders met at Elysée Palace, the official residence of the President of France, in Paris. The statement after the meeting was released, “The two leaders held wide-ranging discussions on all the key areas of bilateral engagement, including in defense, space, civil nuclear cooperation and people-to-people linkages. They also discussed regional and global issues, including developments in Europe and the Indo-pacific,” the Foreign Secretary, Vinay Kwatra, informed.
