On Tuesday, thousands of the Peruvians took to the streets to protesting uncertainty over the result of the presidential election from a month ago, as the confirmation of the leftist Pedro Castillo was held up by the ballot changes.
The supporters of Castillo carried around colorful Wiphala Andean flags and banners etc with pictures of the socialist former teacher and marched towards Congress demanding that narrow lead of over 44,000 votes.
Santos Saavedra, the head of rural defense group Rondas Compesinas, had said that Peru wanted a president and there they had a professor Pedro Castillo elected.
The 51-year-old son of peasant farmers, Castillo, came out before the June 6 run-off vote, good luck finding her.
The electoral authorities were inspecting ballots after challenges by Fujimori who had claimed fraud with little evidence, and they are expected to complete the process before the confirmation of the result with the new president to take office on July 28.
Fujimori said that the match was not over and there was still no winner as they all were waiting for the result.
The attempt of Fujimori to flip the result had lost momentum with the allies appearing to pull support for the delay. The interim government had rejected her request for an international audit of the vote.
