Oman has urged the United States and Iran to return to nuclear negotiations, months after talks stalled due to renewed regional conflict. Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi made the appeal on Saturday at the Manama Dialogue security conference in Bahrain, stressing the need to revive diplomacy amid rising tensions.

“We want to return to the negotiations between Iran and the United States,” Albusaidi said, noting that Oman had hosted five rounds of nuclear talks this year before discussions abruptly stopped.

According to him, the breakthrough round expected to take place in June was derailed by the Israel-Iran confrontation. “Just three days before the sixth and possibly decisive round of talks, Israel unleashed its bombs and missiles,” he said, describing the action as an “illegal and deadly act of sabotage.”

Oman has long played the role of a regional mediator, including helping facilitate the original 2015 nuclear agreement. With geopolitical tensions high and diplomacy stalled, Muscat’s call signals renewed efforts to pull Washington and Tehran back to the negotiating table.
