Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel has eliminated the Commander of the IRGC Navy, stating the officer had “a great deal of blood on his hands” and was responsible for leading the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Netanyahu emphasized that the operation was carried out in close coordination with the United States, calling it “yet another example of the cooperation between us and our friend, the United States, toward the common goal of achieving the objectives of the war.”

The killing marks a significant blow to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval command structure. The Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes, had been a major flashpoint in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

Israel has maintained its military campaign against what Netanyahu describes as the “Iranian terrorist regime,” with this strike underscoring the deepening operational partnership between Tel Aviv and Washington as both nations pursue shared military objectives against Iranian forces.
