Iran has formally laid out its conditions for ending the war, sweeping, uncompromising, and non-negotiable leaving little room for a quick diplomatic resolution.

Speaking through Press TV, an Iranian official made Tehran’s position unambiguous. Iran will end the war at a time of its own choosing and only when its conditions are fully met. President Trump, the official stated plainly, will not be permitted to dictate the timing.

Tehran’s demands are as follows:

1. End to Aggression — Iran demands a complete and immediate halt to all enemy strikes on Iranian soil and its allies.

2. Concrete Guarantees — Binding assurances must be established to prevent any recurrence of war against Iran.

3. War Damages & Compensation — A clear determination and guaranteed payment of compensation for all destruction inflicted upon the country.

4. Comprehensive Ceasefire— A full end to the conflict across every front, including an immediate stop to attacks on all resistance groups aligned with Tehran across the region.

5. Sovereignty Over the Strait of Hormuz — Formal international recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait as its natural and legal right  a demand that would fundamentally redraw control over one of the world’s most vital shipping lanes.

Context of the Current Iran-US-Israel Conflict

The ongoing war, which escalated in late February 2026 with US-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, has seen significant exchanges, including Iranian retaliatory actions and disruptions to maritime traffic in the Persian Gulf. President Trump has publicly discussed potential de-escalation, postponing certain threats and hinting at talks, but Iranian officials have firmly denied direct negotiations and dismissed such claims as attempts to manipulate energy markets and buy time.

Tehran has repeatedly stressed that any resolution must address the root causes of the aggression, ensure long-term security for Iran, and compensate for damages — rather than imposing unilateral US or Israeli conditions.
