Iran has dismissed claims that it is engaged in negotiations with the United States to end the ongoing conflict, calling the suggestion misleading and disconnected from reality.
A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters stated that Washington appears to be “negotiating with itself,” rejecting remarks made earlier by Donald Trump about possible talks between the two sides.
The comments, released in a video shared by Fars News Agency, come amid heightened tensions in the region and conflicting narratives from Washington and Tehran over the possibility of diplomacy.
Iran denies any negotiations with US
According to the Iranian military spokesperson, there are no ongoing discussions with the United States or Israel. The statement emphasized that Tehran’s position remains unchanged and that it will not enter into any agreement under current circumstances.
The spokesperson also accused the US of attempting to portray what Iran described as a “strategic defeat” as a diplomatic success through media narratives. It added that Iran would not be influenced by such claims.
Trump claims talks underway
Earlier, Donald Trump had indicated that negotiations were in progress and suggested that the conflict could end soon, citing US military dominance. However, Iranian officials have firmly rejected these claims, maintaining that no such talks are taking place.
Tehran has reiterated that any path to peace would require a halt to US and Israeli military actions in the region.
