Lawyer and Commentator, Gordon G Chang wrote an opinion piece for Newsweek. According to his article, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s failed attempts to attack India have raised questions over his power internally. This may cause him more that Ladhakh posts as a lot of his power stem from his control of the Communist Party and its Central Military Commission.
The ineffective campaigns at the LAC have raised questions over his ability to intimidate anyone.
In his article, Chang wrote, “India is not giving the invaders the opportunity to improve. Both sides have just accused the other of violating decades-old rules of engagement by firing warning shots. It appears, however, the Chinese are the ones closer to the truth: India’s troops are displaying newfound boldness.”
He also wrote, “Unfortunately, it looks like China’s leader, who had looked invincible, now has something to prove. As a result, he appears absolutely determined to make his point by launching another attempt to break India apart.”
