With Ukraine nearing its airspace after Russia commenced a military offensive against it, the Indian embassy in Hungary announced on Thursday it has carried a team to facilitate the exit of Indian residents stuck in the crisis-hit nation.
“Team from Embassy of India in Hungary has been launched to the border post-Zohanyi to adjust and provide aid to facilitate the exit of Indians from Ukraine. Mission is operating with Govt of Hungary to deliver all possible assistance,” it announced on Twitter.
“The Government of India is nearly monitoring the situation and evacuation plans are being calculated,” it further asserted.

The embassy’s statement came after the closure by Ukraine of its airspace directed to the cancellation of all slated evacuation struggles between India and Kyiv, the Capital of the Eastern European country.
However, Russian missiles on Thursday rained down on Ukrainian regions and Ukraine reported columns of troops gushing across its borders into the eastern Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. Russian troops also reached by sea at the port towns of Odesa and Mariupol in the south.
Booms were heard before dawn in the capital Kyiv, a city of 3 million people. Gunfire rattled, sirens blared, and the highway out of the city strangled with traffic as residents left.
