India has categorically rejected the reference made to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in a joint press release issued by Pakistan and China after talks between Foreign Ministers of the two Asian nations.
Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is an “integral and inalienable” part of India. Mr Anurag added India expects the parties concerned “not to interfere” in the country’s internal matters.
It should be mentioned here that Chinese Foreign Minister and his Pakistani counterpart in their second annual strategic dialogue discussed the Kashmir issue, the Afghan peace process and progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) among a host of other regional, bilateral and international issues.
