In the latest developments of the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Ukraine has in its possession Russia’s top ally.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to release Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Russia in exchange for their Opposition leader – for Life Party, Viktor Medvedchuk, as the United States is preparing to send more artillery and military aid to combat Russian military.

US President Biden commented on Russia’s offensive against Ukraine to be of a genocide level for the very first time, stating, “We will present the entire case from start to finish to international lawyers and understand from them whether it’s of the level of a genocide or not because from where I see it, it sure looks that way.”

Russia brushes off the allegations stating it never targeted Ukrainian civilians and these allegations were made to show the Russian forces in an evil light.

Ukraine on late Tuesday night confirmed apprehending Viktor Medvedchuk and also revealed that he somehow escaped home arrest just after a case of treason was opened again, back in February 2022.

Viktor claims President Putin to be his daughter’s godfather and has denied any allegations against him. None of the Kremlin spokespeople came forward to comment on this immediately.

Zelenskyy early Wednesday morning said, “I am asking Russia to exchange this person for our people both men and women who are under your possession.”

Putin after the February 24th attack, came out in public for the first time and stated boldly, “Russia continues to fight for protecting its security and borders, we will continue in a calm and composed manner and we are confident of achieving our goals.”

Zelenskyy mocked Vladimir Putin’s statement stating, ” That goal which has claimed scores of innocent lives for 49 days now, and his own soldiers as well lost their lives, how can that goal be achieved?”
