The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Tuesday it has struck more than 3,000 targets across Iran since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, according to an official update.

In a post on X, the IDF said its latest operations targeted key military infrastructure. “Yesterday, the IDF targeted IRGC command centers, weapons storage facilities, and aerial defense systems,” it said, adding that more than 50 additional targets were struck overnight, including ballistic missile storage and launch sites.

The ongoing operation, now in its fourth week, is focused on Iran’s military capabilities, including missile-related infrastructure and air defences.

Yesterday, Trump announced a temporary five-day pause on planned U.S. strikes targeting Iranian energy and electricity infrastructure, citing what he described as positive communication and the potential for broader talks.

Iran has firmly denied holding any negotiations with the United States, pushing back against recent reports suggesting indirect diplomatic engagement between the two sides.

Speaking on Monday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf clarified that “no type of negotiation has been conducted with the United States of America.” He dismissed earlier claims of backchannel talks as speculative and aimed at influencing financial markets rather than reflecting actual diplomatic activity.

Echoing this stance, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei confirmed that Tehran had indeed received messages from Washington through intermediary countries. These communications, he noted, were passed along via allied nations but did not amount to formal or structured negotiations.

The statements highlight Iran’s cautious approach to any potential diplomatic engagement with the United States, particularly at a time when geopolitical uncertainty in West Asia continues to intensify.
