Jerusalem, September 8, 2025 – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Monday that four soldiers were killed in a Hamas assault on an army encampment outside Gaza City early in the morning.
The attack took place in the Kafr Jabalia area, on the edge of the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, shortly after troops returned from an overnight mission.
The IDF identified three of the fallen soldiers as Staff Sgt. Uri Lamed, 20, from Tel Mond; Sgt. Amit Arye Regev, 19, from Modiin; and Sgt. Gadi Cotal, 20, from Kibbutz Afikim. All were members of the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion.
The fourth soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.
