Elon Musk slams San Francisco over Twitter HQ bedrooms probe

The San Francisco office of Twitter just underwent significant office room renovations thanks to Elon Musk. This prompted building inspectors in San Francisco to look into Twitter Inc. and its headquarters. Musk recently criticised Mayor London Breed in a tweet by saying the attack on his firm was uncalled for. He recalled an incidence where a baby overdosed on Fentanyl at a playground in San Francisco. Musk wrote, “So the city of SF attacks companies providing beds for tired employees instead of making sure kids are safe from fentanyl. Where are your priorities, London Breed?” In the tweet, he included a tag for the mayor of San Francisco.

In reaction to Ted Goldberg’s tweet from KQED, Ted Goldberg posted on his own blog. After multiple reports claimed that Twitter had turned many office spaces at its headquarters into sleeping accommodations for staff, the Senior Editor indicated that the San Francisco building inspectors are starting an investigation. Additionally, he quoted a department of building inspection official from San Francisco as saying, “We need to make sure the building is being used as intended.”

On the subject, social media users were divided. While some people suggested that Musk should simply let tired workers go home, others thought the beds were an entirely sensible idea. A few individuals who appeared to be okay with beds urged Musk to relocate the Twitter corporate offices outside of San Francisco. A user wrote, “We have nap pods at most of Google buildings! When I was at Google this was a common thing that all employees really appreciated.”

“I mean, who doesn’t love the idea of sleeping in their office and having no separation between work and personal life? Call me crazy, but I’m thinking the building inspectors received complaints from inside Twitter to prompt this investigation,” another wrote.

A person said, “I wish my work provided a nap room.”

In the meantime, Musk’s tweet alluded to an incident involving a 10-month-old child who consumed fentanyl at a well-liked park in San Francisco’s Marina District. It is still unknown how Senna came to consume fentanyl, said ABC7. However, if the initial responders had not acted quickly, it was possible that the 10-month-old might have died from an overdose.
