Elon Musk has finally asked about the important issue of whether he should “step down as CEO of Twitter” in his newest poll. The tech billionaire has stated that he will follow the poll’s results. This comes after a slew of scandals surrounding the social media site since he took over as CEO in late October. “Should I resign as Twitter’s CEO? I will follow the results of this vote.” Musk then tweeted, “as the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it” The poll is around 10 hours away from its deadline and is now trending toward people asking him to step down as CEO of Twitter.

The decision comes only hours after he said Twitter will deactivate accounts “created purely” to promote rival social media services. Accounts supporting competitors and including connections to sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Mastodon will be removed, the business announced on Sunday. Musk also stated that in the future, all important policy changes will be subject to a vote.

His poll post was followed by subsequent tweets.” The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive. (sic),” he said in one of the posts. Replying to a post that he already “has the CEO picked out”, Musk responded – “No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor.”
