Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that he will leave his position as Twitter’s CEO once a successor has been found.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

This is the first time Musk has mentioned stepping down as CEO of the social media platform, after Twitter users overwhelmingly voted for him to step down in a poll launched by the billionaire on Sunday evening.
For weeks, Wall Street has been calling on Musk to step down, and recently, even Tesla Inc bulls have questioned Musk’s focus on the social media platform and whether it is distracting him from properly steering the electric vehicle business, where he is central to product design and engineering.
Musk admitted to having too much on his plate and stated that he would look for a Twitter CEO. However, he stated on Sunday that there is no successor and that “no one wants the job that can actually keep Twitter alive.”
