Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter Inc., announced in one of his first tweets in response to a poll demanding for him to resign that the company would only allow paying Twitter Blue customers to vote on significant policy decisions.
In response to a Blue member going by the handle Unfiltered Boss, Musk stated, “Twitter will make that change.” Musk agreed that only subscribers should have a say in future rules. The billionaire leader had earlier asked Twitter users if they thought he should stand down and promised to put all future policy decisions up for a vote.
More than 10 million people, or 57.5% of the vote, supported Musk giving up his position as Twitter’s CEO. He promised to follow the poll’s results when he released it, but he hasn’t yet commented in public on it. Shortly after attending the World Cup final game in Qatar, Musk made a bold pitch, which quickly became a trending topic with phrases like “VOTE YES” and “CEO of Twitter.” He didn’t propose a replacement leader and even said that a person who could perform the job wouldn’t want it.
Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.

Musk has issued a bankruptcy warning for Twitter and implemented a “hardcore” work environment for the company’s remaining employees following a significant personnel reduction. He has alienated Twitter’s most fervent creators in his less than two months at the helm, scared off advertisers, and changed the service from a reflection of the day’s news to the main topic.
