In the recent several years, the government has decided to prohibit about 250 Chinese applications, stating that they are “prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, the defence of India, the security of the state, and public order.”

Apps such as TikTok, Xender, PUBG Mobile Shein, Camscanner, and Garena Free Fire, among others, have been banned in India for allegedly collecting sensitive user data and requesting critical permissions.

According to reports, servers in hostile countries are receiving and misusing the gathered data.
