China’s Ministry of Commerce on Thursday said it expects the Netherlands to demonstrate “willingness for sincere cooperation and quickly propose a solution” over the ongoing Nexperia B.V. dispute. Ministry spokesperson He Yadong stated that Beijing is calling for “swift and effective actions” to stabilise the global semiconductor supply chain.

Tensions between China and the Netherlands have escalated over control of Nexperia, the Dutch semiconductor manufacturer. The dispute has already resulted in temporary production halts in parts of the automotive sector, affecting major companies including Volkswagen Group and Honda Motor Co.

Beijing reiterated that resolving the matter promptly is essential for preventing further supply disruptions in the global chip ecosystem.
