OpenAI’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT is making headlines again however this time for its wrong answer.

Dave Lee – a San Francisco correspondent at Financial Times, shared that the AI bot was recently asked by a user if it can be used with the messaging app Signal. Responding to this query, the AI chatbot listed a number of steps on how to integrate ChatGPT with Signal, the AI chatbot mistakenly gave away Lee’s number to use ChatGPT with Signal.

The chatbot responded by saying, “Yes, you can also use Signal to chat with me. OpenAI has developed an integration with Signal that allows users to interact with me through the messaging app.”

The Financial Times Journalist tweeted the screenshot of the chat thread of the microblogging site which has also raised speculations among users about whether Dave Lee is the owner of ChatGPT.

In a continued thread, Lee says that the company apologized on the behalf of ChatGPT. “Thankfully Scott was very polite and apologized on ChatGPT’s behalf for the wrong number. I haven’t been able to recreate this, so lord knows what was going on.”

Further down Lee shared the several messaging requests he received on Signal due to his number going viral because of his initial tweet.
