Best Medicine has officially been renewed by the Fox Network for a second season, which was announced on March 2nd, 2026 – before the first season finale aired. The new season will include 12 episodes and will be part of the network’s 2026-27 television schedule.

The early renewal does not come as a shock, as Best Medicine has proven itself to be a major success in its first year with over three million viewers per week (across traditional networks and streaming), since it first aired on January 4, 2026 and quickly gained a dedicated fan base because of its mix of comedy and emotion.

Best Medicine, which is based on the British show Doc Martin stars Josh Charles as Dr. Martin Best, an experienced surgeon who leaves behind his career in Boston to become a doctor to the community in a small seaside town in Maine. His direct, non-nonsense, bedside manner tends to rub the eccentric people of the town the wrong way – generating endless comedic and emotional moments.

The first season of Best Medicine consists of 13 episodes and is currently streaming on Hulu and as of today, has received critical acclaim for its intelligent writing, strong performances, and emotional depth.

All details regarding the new season’s cast and storylines have not yet been released; further announcements will come as production progresses.
