Grant Harvey’s character, Sleeper Hadley, may have had limited screen time in Fire Country Seasons 1 and 2, but he left a lasting impact on both the show and its main character, Bode Leone.

Fire Country follows Bode Leone, a prison inmate who is striving to turn his life around by fighting wildfires in California. The series originally aired on CBS, but with the addition of Season 1 to Netflix, the show has attracted even more viewers. So far, two seasons have been released, and fans are looking forward to Season 3, which is set to premiere on CBS on October 18.

What Happens to Sleeper in Fire Country Season 2?

Netflix viewers who recently caught up with Fire Country Season 1 were introduced to Sleeper Hadley, played by Grant Harvey. Sleeper first appeared in Episode 19 of Season 1 and made a second appearance in Episode 20. In these episodes, Sleeper arrives at Three Rock Con Camp, where Bode is also serving time.

It’s revealed that Bode and Sleeper share a complicated past from their time together in Lompoc prison, where Bode was once Sleeper’s right-hand man. However, their moral paths have since diverged significantly. Sleeper’s arrival at Three Rock brings trouble as he starts dealing drugs within the camp, prompting Bode to take action. Bode ultimately threatens to have Sleeper sent back to prison, and that’s exactly what happens after Bode informs Captain Perez about Sleeper’s illicit activities.

Although Sleeper doesn’t appear again in Season 1, he returns in Season 2 when Bode is also sent back to prison. Unfortunately for Bode, they end up in the same cell block after Sleeper pulls some strings.

Tensions escalate between the two, culminating in a knife fight. Just as things are about to reach a deadly conclusion, an earthquake strikes, trapping Sleeper under rubble. Bode seizes the opportunity not to kill Sleeper but to use his situation to his advantage. He offers to save Sleeper’s life in exchange for Sleeper confessing his crimes and clearing Bode’s name. Sleeper agrees, but before parting ways, he ominously warns Bode that he’ll kill him if they ever cross paths in Lompoc again.

Will Sleeper Be in Fire Country Season 3?

Given Sleeper’s lingering threat, it’s likely that Bode and Sleeper will face off again in the future. However, it’s uncertain if Sleeper will appear in Season 3. As of the end of Season 2, Bode is determined not to return to prison, which might delay their next encounter.

While it would be repetitive for Bode to go back to prison so soon in Season 3, it’s possible that events later in the season could force him back, paving the way for Sleeper’s return. Alternatively, the show might save their final showdown for a later season, possibly Season 4 or even Season 5, if the series continues that long.

Regardless of when Sleeper returns, it’s clear that his story with Bode is far from over. Whether he escapes prison or finds another way to pursue his revenge, Sleeper’s presence will undoubtedly continue to loom over the series.

For now, fans can stream Fire Country Season 1 on Netflix, catch the first two seasons on Paramount+, and look forward to the premiere of Season 3 on October 18.
