On Saturday, April 8, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the 12th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 will pit Mumbai Indians (MI) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In their opening contest, Mumbai was humiliated by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The MS Dhoni-led team, meanwhile, lost their opening match against the Gujarat Titans but rebounded admirably against the Lucknow Super Giants, moving them up to sixth place in the IPL 2023 points standings.
Former Indian veteran and two-time World Cup winner Yusuf Pathan emphasised that Mumbai will be tough to beat at home. The former cricketer also made the point that while Mumbai’s supporters will always support CSK captain MS Dhoni, they ultimately want MI to win by two points.
“Fans in Mumbai will always want MS Dhoni to entertain them with his performance but wish Mumbai Indians to win the match. But you see it is difficult to beat MI at home. There have been 10 matches between CSK and MI at Wankhede Stadium so far and MI have won seven times. If you believe in the figures, then Mumbai Indians are definitely going to pocket those two vital points,” Yusuf Pathan said while talking to Star Sports.
