Leading online learning platform Byju’s has raised $500 million as it is now funded by US-based private equity Silver Lake by an $11 Billion Valuation. Byju’s is also funded by many other investors which include General Atlantic, Owl Ventures and Tiger Global.

This year Byju’s has raised around $1 billion in funding including its series F rounds where Tiger Global and General Atlantic invested $200 million each. Byju’s raised another 122 million dollars from DST Global. Prior to this it secured $100 million from US technology investor bond.

Byju Raveendran, Chief Executive of Byju’s said in a statement, “We are fortunate to be in a sector of positive relevance during the crises. This has brought online learning to the forefront and is helping parents, teachers and students experience and understand its value. Our classrooms are changing possibly for the first time in 100 years and I am really excited about the opportunities that we have to redefine the future of learning.”

Co-CEO of Silver Lake Greg Mondre also addressed the situation by stating, “we are delighted to lead this investment and partner with Byju and his impressive team of education technology pioneers in their mission to help children in India and around the worldachieve their true potential.
