Roshni Nadar Malhotra, India’s richest woman, appointed as Chairperson of HCL Technologies

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the richest woman in India, has been appointed as the chairperson of HCL Technologies. She succeeds her father Shiv Nadar, who has stepped down to remain as the Managing Director of the Company.

The Indian IT giant, HCL Technologies, appointed Roshni Nadar Malhotra as the Chairperson of the company. The company released a statement on Friday appointing Malhotra as the Chairperson after her father, Shiv Nadar, stepped down from the office.

The wealthiest woman in India, Roshni Nadar had been serving as the Executive Director and the CEO of HCL Corporation. She was also the Vice-President of the board of HCL Tech and a trustee of the prestigious Shiv Nadar Foundation.

While Malhotra assumes the office of the Chairperson, Shiv Nadar would continue to be the Managing Director of the company with designation as the Chief Strategic Officer.

In the year 2013, Malhotra was inducted as the additional director in HCL Tech’s board. Just over a year after joining the company, she was promoted to the position of Executive Director and CEO at HCL Corporation.

Roshni Nadar is an alumnus of the Vasant Valley School. She went to join Northwestern University, Illinois in the United States. She further pursued a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the prestigious Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois.

Malhotra has also been a part of the World Economic Forum’s forum of Young Global Leaders Initiative, a community of the world’s most outstanding leaders of next generation. She has also made a mark by getting feature from 2017 to 2019 as Forbes’ “Top 100 Most Powerful Women in the World”.
