Rajasthan Police, on Friday, deployed a team of policemen to the resort in Manesar where 18 congress legislators have been staying since last weekend. Amongst the MLAs is the person of interest, Bhanwar Lal Sharma, who has been accused of taking bribes from the BJP to tumble the Congress government in Rajasthan.

The Congress spokesperson, Randeep Singh Surjewala, addressed the media today to announce the suspension of two members from the party. These members are MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Vishwendra Singh. According to the Congress, these members have been discussing cash transactions with the members of the BJP. A recording of the same has been discovered to substantiate this claim.

“An FIR should be registered against Bhanwar Lal Sharma and apart from that the party has decided to suspend Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Vishvendra Singh, from the primary membership of the party”, stated Surjewala in his address today.

He also stated that the tapes which have recorded the conversations between these MLAs and some senior BJP leaders are a “black episode for democracy”.

Surjewala also demanded that Sachin Pilot, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, should come forward and explain his stance on this issue.

Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot, who was suspended from Congress along with 18 other MLAs due to the failure to turn up to the party meeting at Jaipur, has moved to court against this decision. He was asked by the Rajasthan Police about his role in paying party workers to abandon the party. He claims that this was an attempt by the Chief Minister of the State, Ashok Gehlot, to deploy the state machinery against him.

Pilot has not moved from his stance even after getting approached by various members of the party including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
