The New York Times’ latest puzzle game, Connections, is a fun challenge where you sort 16 words into four secret groups based on their relationships. The game resets every night at midnight, so there’s a new puzzle to solve each day. You can track your streak and compare your scores with friends, much like in Wordle.

How to Play Connections

In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to organize these words into four groups of four by finding out how they’re related. The groups can be anything from types of animals to names of colors or movie titles.

Some words might seem like they fit more than one group, but there’s only one correct way to categorize them. You can shuffle the grid and move the words around to spot the connections more easily.

The game uses color-coding to help you: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Select four words and hit Submit. If you’re correct, those words will disappear, and the theme of the group will be revealed. If you guess wrong, it counts as a mistake. You have a maximum of four mistakes before the game ends.
