Composer Anandji said, “Bappi Lahiri was an ambitious and hard-working composer. He was a sincere and good-hearted man, who loved his work and enjoyed creating new sounds. He arrived on the scene with new ideas and some extremely different kind of soundtracks which worked wonders with the audience. Not only did he adapt to the changing times, he also changed trends in Hindi film music. He introduced certain styles which will be remembered as his signatures. We used to meet each other at award functions and other such industry gatherings. He was always jovial and happy – even when people cracked jokes about the kind of gold jewellery he often wore. He met me with a lot of warmth and respect. I pray for his departed soul. This month has been difficult for the industry. We lost Lata Ji and now, Bappi Lahiri, too.”
Singer Shreya Ghoshal wrote, “I will always remember you as the true rock star of our country. Your music, your personality, everything about you dada, was iconic. Ever so loving, warm, charming and humble. I have been so fortunate to have had your blessings through my career and got several opportunities to sing for and with you. Bappi da, you have gone too soon. Will miss you terribly. Rest in peace. Om Shanti🙏🏻 #BappiLahiri.”
Salim Merchant also took over Instagram and wrote, “Chalte Chalte mere yeh geet yaad rakhna.. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.. Bappi Da. Will miss those musical conversations. My condolences to the family.”
Shankar Mahadevan told that he just had the pleasure to meet Bappi Da on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma.
Vishal Dadlani also shared the same picture and called him a great friend and more than a legend.
