The five-match T20I series featuring India and South Africa will begin in a few days, as both teams prepare for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2022. Both of these teams did not have a good World T20 2021 campaign and will be looking to make a strong recovery this year.
The 5-match T20I series will begin on Thursday, June 9th (Thursday) at ArunJaitley Stadium in Delhi. With big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah missing out the series, players will get a chance to show themselves and earn a position in the T20 World Cup.
India’s most recent match versus South Africa was a catastrophe. The Proteas dominated India in the Test series, winning 2-1, and then swept them in the ODI series as well.
However, with 17 games faced each other in T20 Internationals so far, India has a slight lead over South Africa, with 9 wins to South Africa’s six wins in the shortest format.
If India loses to the proteas, the latter will have won seven games and will be dominating India in victories a following the test series and ODI.
Following the conclusion of the five-match T20I series between India and South Africa, Ireland will host India in two T20I matches. On June 26, Ireland and India will play their first T20I match. On June 28, there will be a second clash between the two teams.
