Mumbai Indians won the top of the table clash against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday by 5 wickets to go ahead with 16 points on the top of the table and a much better net run-rate as compared to their rivals. KKR’s defeat to CSK on Thursday night at Dubai now means that the defending champions qualify for the playoffs once again as the team that is 5th(KKR) on the table will not be able to match the table leaders(MI) in terms of points as Knight Riders have just one game remaining and would finish the season with 14 points if the win their final fixture.

Match number 50 on Friday between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals will be one of the most crucial games of the season as a defeat for the latter would see them become the 2nd team to fail qualifying for the playoffs after Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai Indians are now the favourites to finish in the top 2 spots on the points table and make to the Dream11 IPL 2020 Final.
