The new English single of the world’s biggest boy band in the world was dropped by them on July 9, ‘Permission To Dance’. The song reached 71 million views in 24 hours. ARMYs have showered their love for the song as the song takes over the music charts. While the new song has many reasons to be loved the incorporation of sign languages in the choreography has won the hearts of many.

According to the translation by BOMHARU1230 on Twitter the choreography “Permission to dance’ includes special choreography that incorporates international sign language that means ‘fun’ ‘dance’ and ‘peace’. Scratching their body while raising the thumb and slightly bending the rest of the fingers means ‘fun’. Moving 2 fingers side to side on top of the palm of the other hand as a stage represents ‘dancing’ and lastly making ‘V’ sign means ‘peace.’”

The beginning scene has an easter egg that comes into the picture for the celebration of ‘Disability Pride Month’ and the group also added the hearing aid emoji added to their official Twitter bio. The #DeafArmy was trending worldwide the next day many fans went on to share the stories of family members or friends who became an ARMY solely because BTS included the hearing impaired community in the celebration which allowed them to enjoy the song as well.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of WHO, tweeted, “Thank you BTS for including sign language in your Permission to Dance music video. As 1.5 billion people in the world are affected by hearing loss; sign language can help them to continue enjoying music which can bring joy to life.”

The song is set in post-pandemic times and the boy band shares messages of hope, love and happiness for the coming years. The song also included communities that were the worst hit by the pandemic like the service industry, teachers, elderly people, and children. The band was seen dressed in denim outfits, bandanas, leather boots, and cowboy hats in the middle of a dessert.
