The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the senior women’s squad for the tour of England, that consists of 3 ODIs and as many T20Is.
Smriti Mandhana has been named vice-captain, and Harmanpreet Kaur has been named captain of the sides. In the ODIs, seasoned bowler Jhulan Goswami rejoins the team.
In addition, Kiran Navgire received her first national call- up after being included in the T20I team.
The first Twenty20 International is played at Durham on September 10, and thereafter matches are played in Derby and Bristol.
Richa Ghosh has also rejoined India’s T20I team after being passed over for a position in the recently finished Commonwealth Games. In the interim, Yastika Bhatia loses her spot in T20Is but is added for the 50 over matches. After being benched for the World Cup earlier this year, Jemimah Rodrigues has also made a comeback in ODIs.
