The year 2020 seems to have an array of bad news. World-famous astrologer Bejan Daruwala has passed away allegedly due to COVID-19. The man, whose astrological predictions were avidly followed by millions across the country, took his last breath on Friday at a hospital in Ahmedabad. The astrologer reportedly died of Coronavirus complications. He was 89. He had tested positive for the virus a few days back and was admitted to a private hospital in Ahmedabad. Reports state that he was on ventilator support for the past few days.

The famous astrologer had predicted several Prime Ministerial victories including that of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Morarji Desai, and more recently, Narendra Modi. The astrology had even apparently predicted the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi’s accident, and the Bhopal gas tragedy, amongst others.

A practicing Zoroastrian, Daruwalla was also a Ganesha devotee, and astrology columns in various leading newspapers went under the title ‘Ganesha Speaks’.

His predictions were well known and followed by people across religion.

Chief Minister of Gujarat has also expressed his condolences and tweeted, ” Saddened by the demise of renowned Astrologer Shri Bejan Daruwalla. I pray for the departed soul. My condolences. Om Shanti… ”

BJP MP Poonamben Maadam also offered her condolences and said, “Sad to know about the demise of Renowned astrologer, Bejan Daruwalla Ji. May his soul Rest in Peace”.

Former Gujarat Congress chief Arjun Modhwadia also shared his condolences and wrote, “Saddened to hear demise of renowned astrologer Wizard Shri Bejan Daruwalla ji @Bejan_Daruwalla due to Covid19. Unfathomable loss to the world of Indian Astrology. My condolences to his family & friends. May his divine soul find peace in Almighty’s Heaven”

According to TOI his son had confirmed on Sunday that his father had been suffering from pneumonia and lung infection, and the oxygen level in his body had dipped.

Born in July 1931, Daruwalla was a known Ganesha devotee who combined the principles of various techniques like Vedic astrology, Numerology, Palmistry, I-Ching, Tarot, Kabalah and even Western astrology for his predictions.
