Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi all set to re-release in Gujarat on this Makar Sankranti- Deets Inside!

Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi is all set to hit Gujrat’s big screens on occasion of Makar Sankrati (14 January).

Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi hit screens after several months of lockdown. However, the film is once more ready to hit Gujarat’s big screens on occasion of Makar Sankranti (14 January) in Gujarat. The Rohit Shetty directorial film will re-release across 30 non-national multiplex screens tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi created BOX OFFICE HISTORY by collecting net box office of Rs 42 crore in Gujarat alone, despite the film being available on OTT platform. The exhibitors are quite optimistic about the re-release as they think movie goers who missed out the silver screen outing will take the initiative to visit theaters.

However, the film featured actors Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. On the other hand, stars like Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh also featured in the pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, the movie is an inspirational story of a Mumbai cop, who pulls out all the stops to ensure the conspiracy that is about to attack the city is expropriated.

Earlier Rohit told ETimes, after achieving massive success, “I am very happy for not just the film doing well, but for various other reasons, too. The feeling of seeing theatre owners, people who work in those theatres, be happy is fantastic. The audience too, has come out and spoken of their theatre experience as if they’ve seen a theatre for the first time. All this gives me a high. It makes me feel humbled and happy. Film toh thi, usko chalna tha (The film had to release and earn its money). We knew the project had a scale and it was a brand so it would do a certain amount of business and people would like the film. But the feeling of fighting for 19 months, not releasing the film on any online platform and taking the risk of being the first film to release in theatres after the lockdowns, was memorable. Getting so much love from the audience, theatre owners and the film industry is something I will remember my whole life. This film will always be special for me.”
