
YouTuber and podcaster, Ranveer Allahbadia, who was questioned along with content creator Ashish Chanchlani for nearly five hours by Maharashtra Cyber officials on Monday over controversial remarks made on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, has revealed that he attended because Samay was his friend.
Ranveer also revealed that he has not received any payment for his appearance and explained that YouTubers often collaborate and feature on each other’s show, read a report by NDTV, citing sources.
The social media influencer appeared at the cyber headquarters in Navi Mumbai after previously skipping summons issued by the agency. He also admitted to his mistake, during his statement to the investigating officer.
Ranveer, along with Ashish, made their first public appearance at the Maharashtra Cyber headquarters on Monday since India’s Got Latent scandal erupted earlier this month. It has been revealed by an official that they arrived at 11.30 am and their statements were recorded.
While Ashish departed in his own car, Ranveer, who was wearing a black mask to avoid media attention, was seen leaving the headquarters an hour before Ashish, at 5 PM.
As a part of the ongoing investigation, Maharashtra Cyber has issued summons to more than 50 individuals associated with the show, which includes guests, judges, social media influencers, and comedians.
