Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast on YouTube, became the first individual to reach a million followers on Threads, Meta’s Twitter competitor. On the platform, he currently has over 2.5 million followers.
He hit the milestone only hours after signing up for the newly launched app, trailing numerous other celebrities, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
“And when he learned of his record-breaking achievement, MrBeast tweeted us to say: ‘Shhhhh, don’t let the twitter police know I’m cheating on them’,” Guinness Worlds Record said in a statement.
Donaldson is well-known on YouTube for lavishing his viewers with presents that include, but are not limited to, cash prizes, cars, and an island. He also has his own charity, Beast Philanthropy, through which he and his colleagues donate to people in need.
MrBeast’s Threads account also maintains the pattern. MrBeast declared only a few “threads” in that he would be giving away a Tesla to a random follower within 48 hours. The post has received over 70,000 reactions and over 330,000 likes so far.
The Sweden native has over 165 million subscribers on his official YouTube channel and has over 10 billion views. His net worth is predicted to be $50 million.
