Two NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken are set to return back to earth aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon on weekend through a planned undocking on Saturday and a scorching speedy fall in the atmosphere on Sunday. The Spaceship will undock from International Space Station at 5:04 am IST on Sunday and will make a water landing off the Florida coast at 12.12 am IST on Monday.
The SpaceX’s Crew Dragon is the first commercially developed spaceship by NASA to dock at the International Space Station earlier in May.
The NASA is to telecast events of the journey on NASA TV as the astronauts head back to earth tomorrow, Dated – 2nd August.
The schedule can be delayed or the final call is to be taken at 1 PM ET considering the conditions of wind and weather during the splash of the spaceship and if delayed the astronauts will try again roughly after 24 hours.
Despite the threat of Hurricane Isaias strafing coastal Florida with brutal weather, NASA and SpaceX are “go” to return the first commercial astronauts to planet Earth this weekend.
SpaceX made history in May when it became the first company to launch a crewed spaceship to the International Space Station. In doing so, Elon Musk’s rocket company also revived the United States’ ability to launch its own astronauts into space, which hadn’t been possible since the Space Shuttle program ended in 2011.(Business insider)
