SpaceX and NASA’s historic launch was cancelled yesterday at 4:33 pm EDT. This was set to be the most awaited project by NASA. It was going to directly launch American astronauts from American soil. SpaceX owner Elon Musk too was going to expand his empire. The success of this mission would mark human passengers being ferried to space for the first time. However, bad weather stopped the iconic launch completely. The astronauts had been escorted and had already boarded the rocket. Official reports state that the launch is rescheduled at 3:22 pm EDT on the 30th May, 2020. This would mean 12:52 pm in IST again depending on existing weather conditions.
SpaceX and NASA both tweeted on twitter regarding the reschedule. They had shared videos and images of the launch happening on 27th May previously.
SpaceX is one of the first private space research technology companies. One of its broader plans includes making space travel more affordable and reusable. This project was far more important. It had been named Demo-2 taking American astronauts Behnken and Hurley to the ISS. They were escorted by police officials in special Tesla Model X cars. Surely, the whole world will be stuck to their screens to witness a possible history in the making.
Standing down from launch today due to unfavorable weather in the flight path. Our next launch opportunity is Saturday, May 30 at 3:22 p.m. EDT, or 19:22 UTC
