Satya Nadella sees cloud technology as a game changer, and Microsoft plans to open a fourth region in Hyderabad

Microsoft CEO identifies six digital imperatives: prioritising security, embracing collaborative business processes, re-energizing the workforce, migrating to the cloud, unifying data, deploying AI models as platforms, and empowering fusion teams.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has outlined cloud adoption as a game changer that will be used by everyone, even as he outlined six digital imperatives for corporates.

Speaking at a leadership summit in Mumbai, Nadella said, “We are still at a very nascent stage of cloud adoption and that it has been a pretty big game changer. Microsoft is committed to making cloud infrastructure available everywhere.”

“We are adding a fourth region in Hyderabad in India. Every retail facility, hospital and everyone will use cloud and we need to place cloud infrastructure,” he said, adding the benefit of the cloud is we can use it only when we want. Adani, Yes Bank and many others have showcased tremendous adoption of the cloud.

He identified six digital imperatives: prioritising security, embracing collaborative business processes, re-energizing the workforce, migrating to the cloud, unifying data, applying AI models as platforms, and empowering fusion teams.

As per him, India is the largest contributor to the developer ecosystem and the leader in AI projects.
On cyber threats, Nadella said, “We have a real crisis, as of now 6 trillion have been lost because of cyber threat, it is becoming a real epidemic”

Advocating for the adoption of a zero trust architectural approach, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer stated that many companies, including Flipkart, Godrej, and Axis Bank, have adopted zero trust cyber security. “Bridging the gender gap is critical; there is a need to train all genders in cyber skills,” he said.
