The outage has affected hundreds of thousands of users worldwide, as reported by DownDetector, a service that monitors online outages. More than 200,000 users in the Americas have reported issues with Facebook, while over 30,000 have faced problems with Instagram, and a little over 8,000 users have been impacted on Messenger.
The crisis has extended to WhatsApp, Meta’s popular instant messaging application, with users also reporting difficulties in accessing and using the service.
