NYT Strands today: hints, spangram and answers for Wednesday, August 14

Strands is the New York Times’ latest daily puzzle, offering a fresh challenge for word search enthusiasts. It’s a bit trickier than traditional word searches, so if you’re feeling stuck, don’t worry—help is here!

How to Play NYT Strands

In Strands, your goal is to find “theme words” hidden within a grid of letters. You can drag or tap on the letters to form words, and double-tap the final letter to confirm your selection. When you find a correct theme word, it will turn blue and be locked in place.

If you come across a non-theme word that’s at least four letters long, it can help you too! For every three such words you find, you’ll earn a hint—revealing letters from one of the theme words that you’ll need to unscramble.

The puzzle includes a “spangram,” a special theme word or words that span from one side of the grid to the other. Finding this spangram will highlight it in yellow and is a key step in solving the puzzle.
