Strands is the latest daily puzzle from The New York Times, offering a more challenging twist on the classic word search. You’ll need sharp eyes and quick thinking to solve it.
Like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can be tricky some days. If you’re stuck and need a little help, we’ve got you covered with today’s answers below.
How to Play NYT Strands
In Strands, your goal is to find “theme words” hidden in a grid of letters. Here’s how to play:
- Find Words: Drag or tap letters to form words; double-tap the final letter to confirm.
- Correct Words: Theme words will be highlighted in blue and become unselectable.
- Non-theme Words: Finding non-theme words (at least four letters long) helps too. For every three you find, you’ll get a hint revealing letters of a theme word.
- No Overlap: Every letter in the grid is used exactly once to spell out the theme words.
Each puzzle has one “spangram,” a special theme word that touches two opposite sides of the board. The spangram is highlighted in yellow when found.
