Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. In this game, you categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups based on how they relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight, and each new puzzle varies in difficulty. Like Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
How to Play NYT Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid with 16 words. Your goal is to organize these words into four sets of four by figuring out the connections between them. These sets could include concepts like video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, etc.
Some words may seem like they fit multiple themes, but there’s only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the grid to better see potential connections.
Each group is color-coded by difficulty:
- Yellow: Easiest
- Green
- Blue
- Purple: Hardest
To play, pick four words and hit Submit. If correct, the words are removed from the grid, and the theme is revealed. If incorrect, it counts as a mistake. You have four mistakes available before the game ends.
